Cult fashion brand Nasty Gal has worked with Sync Studio to design and produce an LA-themed set and event space for a pop-up display at the Curtain Hotel in Shoreditch. The retail display project celebrates the launch of the brand’s ‘After Party Vintage’ Capsule Collection. The collection is a revival of Nasty Gal’s favourite lines and is seen as taking the brand back to its roots.
A spokesperson for Sync Studio said about the project, “We created the LA-inspired ‘Electric’ display to create the perfect backdrop for the vintage pieces. Our team tapped into their Californian roots and channelled punk rock LA vibes by utilising reclaimed raw wooden pallets, and a cladded concrete effect floor to create an industrial look and feel.”
Peach-coloured neon lights also created a retro, vintage feel to the display space of the pop-up, with neon light tubes hung from the ceiling and within the wooden pallets. The Nasty Gal logo has also been created with neon lights. The lighting, using blue to pink coloured filters creates an edgy atmosphere and has been used to carefully highlight the Nasty Gal collection on display. Several glitter balls have also been hung from the ceiling too, reflecting the light to make the clothes on display glitter too.
The Curtain Hotel is a great choice for a cult brand such as Nasty Gal. The hotel, restaurant, live music venue and pub is in the heart of Shoreditch, London’s most creative district, and is perfect for attracting the young and fashionable, the target for Nasty Gal’s collection.
